We are bound by the requirements of the chemicals we have used for the application. Generally, you can re-occupy the property as soon as the spray has completely dried. This will depend on the prevailing weather conditions, so this may take up to an hour if the weather is cold and wet. In most cases, however, the spray will dry within minutes of being applied.
We will provide specific advice regarding when you may re-occupy your home once we have inspected the property and determined the best course of treatment for your property.
Yes. While we could provide an enormous amount of information as to why our products and application techniques are safe, we find it much easier to keep it simple: Your safety is our priority!
We do ask that if anyone in your household has any allergies or sensitivities to any products, then please let us know in advance of our attendance at your property and we will cross-check our product guides and application directions to ensure the absolute safety of your family.
We can send you the relevant Material Safety Data Sheets and application guides for all the products we have used at any time.
To ensure that the chemicals we apply have the best chance at eliminating pests and their colonies, we ask you don’t mop the areas treated for at least 1 week after the treatment has occurred.
Deep cleaning (washing walls and ceilings) is likely to remove spray treatments, so it is recommended that this be carried out before the treatment taking place.
We use a range of methods to treat pests in your home. We don’t believe in the one size fits all approach to treatments. We first conduct a comprehensive inspection to determine the best course of action and treatment methods for your unique needs.
At Proactive Pest Solutions, we generally use a combination of spray treatments, gel applications, dusting, and baits around the home in various areas to provide a thorough and safe way of eliminating a wide array of types of pests from your home.
- For the safety of your furry, feathered, or scaly family members, we ask all pets be removed from the property for the treatment to take place. If you have a fish tank, please let us know in advance as we will need to take additional precautions for any aquatic creatures.
- All open food and water containers need to be covered or removed (we prefer them to be removed from benches where possible).
- The house should be as clean as possible before our treatment. We ask that you avoid doing a heavy clean of the property for at least a week after the treatment.
We will send you a detailed pre-treatment checklist via email before your inspection and treatment. This will help to ensure the best level of treatment is applied in the safest way possible.
After the treatment, you will likely find dead insects – within 24 hours in most cases.
We use a combination of treatments and chemicals that affect pest insects in different ways. Some products we use have a slower knock-down effect and may take a week or more to eliminate the colony, depending on the type of pest being targeted. During this time you may still see insects around your home – so don’t be concerned if they are not all dead immediately after our treatment has been carried out.
We recommend an annual general pest treatment focusing on the treatment of cockroaches, spiders and ants. We also recommend annual termite inspections.
Rats and mice are treated on an as-needed basis if we find evidence of their presence in your home.
The products we use have an effective lifespan of 1 year when applied in the methods specified by the manufacturer.
We warrant our treatments for 1 year.
